Verification
The process of determining the system does things right, i.e., was built following reasonable design principles; provides a consistent user interface; performs the selected functions in the correct manner; accesses the right data, and has undergone an appropriate series of reviews.
Verification is the review of interim work steps and interim deliverables to ensure they are acceptable, and is the process of comparing the deliverables of an intermediate phase to the conditions imposed at the beginning of that phase.
